Since 1997 Patrick en Sylvia van der Meer are running Training stable 'De Hoeve' in Naaldwijk. Over the years the company has developed into a accepted FNRS company with 4 stars and a safety certificate.

Certainly Patrick and Sylvia are so proud of their three beautiful daughters: Dana, Finette and Veerle.

As a horse rider and instructor Patrick is well known. The first horse which became Patrick's fame in that time was named Clark ATA.
After several successes in the local competitions, the combination made the switch to the national dressage where he successfully made it to the PSG (Prix Saint Georges). After obtaining the instructors training ORUN, Patrick was employed for two years at the K.N.F (now as K.N.H.S.)

He was riding young K.W.P.N. stallions in the performance test and was instructor of the ORUN instructorstraining 2nd and 3rd phase. He then worked for three years in dressage- and jumping stable 'de IJzeren Man' in Weert, where he was successful with several horses. He also brought out the KWPN approved stallion named 'Amsterdam' in the stallion competition.
Back in the Westland Patrick remained committed to the Orun for giving instructorstraining, refresher courses and examinations. For the KWPN he still works as a test rider for the performance test.

Multiple PSG and GP horses were trained and released by Patrick. The Horse named Breaking Dawn (under Patrick known as Ultimate's Flemming) was trained by Patrick and performed at the Olympics under Ashley Holzer.

The new topper of Patrick is of course the talented Uzzo (Lancet x Indoctro). With Uzzo, Patrick was World Champion young horses in 2006 in Verden (Germany), and in 2007 they won a bronze medal.

In 2012 Patrick achieved a bronze medal with Uzzo at the National Championships.
Because of this he was selected for the Olympic Games in London 2012 together with Anky van Grunsven, Edward Gal and Adelinde Cornelissen.
The Dutch team achieved to win the Bronze Olympic medal.

On the news page of this site, we keep you informed of the competition results of Patrick and Sylvia and their horses. Besides the successes in the competitions, Patrick certainly earned his instructor skills.

He coached several combinations in the national and international dressage sport with great success.

Patrick riding for years with Passier. The bridles of Passier are of top quality, super fit and beautiful. The saddles give the horses an optimal freedom of movement and are of top quality.
Also, the remaining products are durable and fine in the use.
"For me Passier has the best quality stuff," says Patrick van der Meer.

Sylvia achived her instructor qualifications in Ermelo, where she met Patrick.
She was very successfully into the basic sport with several horses.
With the horse named Clark, she switched to the specialized competitions to ride several horses to the GSP.

After the birth of three daughters, Sylvia is now active for the administration, instruction, and she rides horse as a hobby.
